The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.
And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

All About Mrs. B!

My name is Lisa Boyster. I am 40 years old. This is my 19th year of teaching - all in Oceanside!  I taught 2nd grade for 6 years and this will be my 13th year at MLK. I have taught Math (6th), Science (6th & 7th), Language Arts (6th & 7th), Read 180 (6th - 8th), and ELD (6th - 8th).  I have my BA in Liberal Studies from CSUSM. I have my MA in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from NU.  I also have a supplementals in English, Science, Social Studies, and Health.

When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my wonderful family. My daughters are the joy of my life. Bailey is in 10th grade & Katie is in 8th grade.  My hubby and I have been married for 16 years. Doug works at UPS (over 28 years).  Every night you will find me hanging out with or being a taxi for my girls & playing with our critters (dog, 3 tortoises, blue-tongued skink,  2 bearded dragons & snake). We also enjoy camping in our RV,  going to Disneyland, Girl Scouts, 4H, Lacrosse, Tae kwon Do or any outdoor activity!

I love teaching and feel blessed to live my dream everyday.
